Introduction to Engineering Simulation

About this workshop

The application of simulation enables engineers to virtually test and optimize the performance of their design. However, just a minority of engineers are able to leverage the advantages of simulation due to the high costs of traditional CAE tools and lack of know-how. To tackle this issue, SimScale—the free cloud-based engineering simulation platform—developed a hands-on course, tailored to the needs of engineers who want to get started with simulation.

These live online webinar sessions will help the participants gain a deep understanding of the most important concepts, and the corresponding homework assignments will contribute to putting these learnings into practice.

We send a recording of the webinar to all registrants, so it does not hurt to sign up even if you cannot attend.

By participating, you will learn:

  • What is fluid flow, thermal, and structural simulation
  • How engineers and designers can accelerate the development of products using simulation
  • How SimScale enables everyone with a web browser to run sophisticated simulations for free

Session 1 – Introduction to Fluid Flow Simulation

6:00 p.m CET / 12:00 p.m. ET

Session 2 – Introduction to Thermal Simulation

6:00 p.m CET / 12:00 p.m. ET

Session 3 – Introduction to Structural Simulation

6:00 p.m CET / 12:00 p.m. ET

Introduction to Fluid Flow Simulation

November 27th 2017 6:00 P.M. CEST / 12:00 ET

During this session, we will introduce you to fluid flow simulation and we will optimize the design of a ventilation system to show how this type of analysis can help in the development process.

Introduction to Thermal Simulation

November 28th 2017 6:00 P.M. CEST / 12:00 ET

During the second session of this workshop, you will become familiar with thermal simulation. One application presented will be an air conditioning design optimized completely in the cloud.

Introduction to Structural Simulation

November 29th 2017 6:00 P.M. CEST / 12:00 ET

In the last session of this webinar, we will optimize the design of an electronics enclosure design with cloud-based structural simulation.
