Inspired by this article https://insideevs.com/news/339220/tesla-model-3-battery-can-transfer-twice-the-heat-of-model-s-p100d/  this project goal is to evaluate the difference in cooling effectiveness between series and parallel cooling tube of an EV Battery Module.

The cooling strategies used to maintain the battery under 40C are cooling tubes places between the rows of cells. Inside the aluminium channel extrusions flows a coolant made of water and glycol.

This project simulates a solid-state relay under a 15W heat load. 
This relay includes a heat sink that acts as a fixture from the relay housing to the mounting wall. The product is tested under natural convection conditions at 20C.

This project aims at investigating the impact of trees as porous media in mitigating the wind effects affecting pedestrian wind  comfort.
A comparison between two scenarios is undertaken, one using an urban model with no trees and one using trees. The areas of significant improvement in wind comfort and reduction in wind velocity are highlighted.

This project uses incompressible analyses with passive scalars. The use of passive scalar is to model the concentration of air exhaust at any location.

This project shows a simple HVAC study of a one-story shopping center hall. The simulation aims to evaluate the power requirements and distribution around the hall in order to maintain both indoor air quality and thermal comfort of the occupants.

100W LED with active cooling cases and MOSFETs

In this SimScale project, inspired by this article on cooling effectiveness, a CFD thermal analysis is used to predict the temperature of 30 commercial Li-ion 18650 cells under multiple casing designs and inlet flow conditions. The goal is to find the minimum cooling power so that the cells are kept below 40C.

To simulate blade velocity distribution, pressure distribution on blade surface, torque, derformation and stresses on the blades. The blade was designed with NACA 4412 profile

Powertrain for hypothetical electric vehicle for cooling

This project uses a steady-state CFD analysis to investigate the aerodynamic performance and energy conversion capability of a vertical axis wind turbine.

A turbulent flow simulation of a ball valve is demonstrated in this project.

For this project, we simulated two different scenarios, one using a model without the integration of trees around the park and near the building, and the second including the effect of these trees. The purpose of this was to find out if planting trees around urban high-rise buildings can be an effective strategy to mitigate the undesirable effects of airflow, leading to wind discomfort at the pedestrian level.
