This project investigates how key aerodynamic factors—helmet design, clothing, rider posture, and drafting—affect the drag experienced by a cyclist. By analyzing different helmet shapes, clothing fits and materials, body positions, and the effects of riding in another cyclist’s wake, the study aims to quantify their impact on air resistance. Using computational simulations and/or experimental testing, the project will measure drag forces and airflow patterns to identify strategies that optimize cycling performance and energy efficiency. The findings will provide practical recommendations for cyclists and designers to reduce aerodynamic drag.
