My aim for this project is to test the durability of a cylindrical shaped steel pipe with young's modulus is 205GPa. The loading conditions are: one end of the cylinder is fixed and the other end is free. On the free end a force is applied in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal cylindrical axis. The maximum force that can be applied so that the cylinder does not yield is calculated. Conclusion from project: The safe load that can be applied at the end of the cylinder considered is 100kN.
