This project focuses on simulating the thermal cooling process of the human body after death using computational thermal modeling. A 3D phantom model of the human body will be used to represent the geometry, and transient heat transfer simulations will be performed to replicate body cooling under different environmental conditions. The aim is to validate experimental data from temperature sensors with a physics-based thermal simulation, providing a reference model for postmortem interval (PMI) estimation. The software will be used to: Import or use a 3D human phantom. Assign realistic thermal properties (tissue, fat, muscle). Simulate transient cooling over time (conduction + convection). Compare results against real or simulated sensor measurements
