About this project

This project simulates a 2D lid-driven cavity flow using SimScale to analyze vortex formation and velocity profiles at Reynolds numbers ranging from 1000 to 5000. The geometry is a 1m×1m square cavity with the top lid moving at a constant velocity (U), while other walls enforce no-slip conditions. The simulation aims to: 1. Investigate flow separation and vorticity distribution. 2. Compare velocity profiles along vertical/horizontal centerlines. 3. Validate results against classical benchmark data. Mesh refinement near walls will be applied, and results will include velocity contours, streamlines, and vorticity plots.
