About the Workshop
The SimScale Maker Workshop Series enable students, makers, and hobbyists to learn how to use SimScale’s engineering simulation platform for developing and improving their own products and design ideas.
During three workshop sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of engineering simulations and will expand their knowledge based on practical exercises.
Every session comes with an optional homework assignment. Submitting all three homework assignments will qualify you for a free Professional Training (value of 500€), a certificate of participation.
There is no prior knowledge or software required to join this free workshop series. All participants will get free access to SimScale including all simulation features.

Session 1 – 06/09/2016
STRENGTH ANALYSIS OF A QUADCOPTER ARM
The first session will introduce you to the world of simulation and convey the necessary basic knowledge. In the further course of the webinar will create your very first simulation and use the results to optimize the structural design of a quadcopter’s arm.
Session 2 – 06/16/2016
REDUCING FRAME VIBRATIONS USING MODAL SIMULATIONS
The second session will introduce you to solid mechanic simulations. Participants will learn about the fundamentals of machine dynamics and create a modal simulation to identify eigenfrequencies and the associated modal displacements of frame.
Session 3 – 06/23/2016
COOLING FLOW THROUGH AN ELECTRONIC HOUSING
During the last session we will talk about fluid flow simulations. Using the example of a self-constructed housing for a Rasperrym, we will investigate the cooling flow and the heat transfer between the electronic and air. In addition we will also introduce you to advanced result visualization.
