Wind deformation analysis

#1

Hi there!

I have a project and the way that i’m aproaching is this:

I create a CFD analysis and I get the preassure distribution.
I create a Static analysis and I see the deformation.
I change the model in F360 to match the deformed product
I create a CFD analysis and I get the preassure distribution.
I create a … blah blah

I’m taking a lot of time and effort to redesign the product (it has some elastic fibres) to match the static analysis until convergence.

Do you know a more direct path?

Regards!

Hi @Strafes!

Unfortunately I have no other idea right now than maintaining this iterative process. Maybe @Get_Barried or @vgon_alves have a nice way to perform such simulations. The only thing I can think of right now is Dakota for OpenFoam which is some kind of shape optimizer.

Hi @Strafes,

Interesting approach. What is the objective of the project? I would think first putting the model through CFD, getting the pressure distribution out and then applying that load in FEA to get the deformation out would be a more realistic scenario to start with.

Then again it all depends on your project objective. So do let us know. Multiphysics simulations are not simple and there will be significant margin of errors involved so do take note. I’m sure there are softwares out there that can do multiphysics, not on SimScale though. Maybe check OpenFOAM?

Cheers.
