The best module for simulating supersonic flow is the Subsonic module, although the name of the solver implies the opposite. The name Subsonic was chosen when the new solver was initially released. At the time, supersonic flow could not be captured. Currently, this module is very robust and validated for supersonic flow. The name of the solver will be changed in the near future.

Yes. In SimScale, the Subsonic solver is currently the recommended and most robust solver for supersonic flow simulations, despite its name. The name is historical and will likely be changed in the future.
