This is a simple simulation of assembling four components.
Fix component3 and move B16-195_2080_2101_1002 -2.2mm in the Y direction.
The purpose is to check the deformation, stress, and strain of component2.
It takes a long time and does not converge at all. Please tell me the solution.

Hi @a_ishikawa, thanks for posting!
A few comments:
- I don’t see this problem as being trivial in any way. It’s highly non-linear as you have 5 Physical Contact definitions
- It seems like you’ve disabled the geometry update option in the physical contacts - keep in mind this should lead to unrealistic results
- Since you seem to have a sweepable shape, consider using extrusion mesh refinements as this will help with the stability of the simulation (less distorted elements = better convergence).
Just for me to better assist you - would you mind telling me if your intended application with SimScale is Commercial, Academic or Hobby?
Cheers
Igor
Thank you for your reply.
I added a physical contact definition with the intention of avoiding contact surface penetration.
I disabled the geometry update option for physical contact because I followed the suggestion in the error message.
I am currently using it with the Community Plan in order to consider commercial use.
By adding extrusion mesh refinement, the simulation converged.
Thank you.
