This is a test case to show how is the temperature distribution on a 0.5 m x 0.5 m square steel plate using orthotropic thermal conductivity.
Steel was used with the following thermal conductivities:
100000 w/m^2 were applied on the two highlighted surfaces in blue below:
Convection was applied using 293.15 K as reference temperature on the surfaces highlighted below:
From the image below we can see that temperature is dissipated much better to the y direction as the conductivity is much higher compared to the x direction.
