I have a quick question. I want to simulate a belt around 2 pulleys. I do not want to use the entire belt geometry is there a way to import it was a surface so it has a membrane element type meaning it can exert force but doesn’t have bending stiffness.

Hi @michael_p_murra!

First of all I want to mention that we do not have shell elements nor membranes available on our platform but it is on the roadmap! Please make sure to give your vote to this feature request by @cjquijano: **[2D Structural Elements](https://www.simscale.com/forum/t/support-for-2d-structural-elements/62943)**.

Best,
