Is Simscale any good for CFD of FSAE car?

I’m in the aerodynamics department of my FSAE team. We have been contemplating making the jump from ANSYS to Simscale and have hope to get a sponsorship deal with them. However, we feel unsure whether we should start using Simscale as it seems limited compared to ANSYS when it comes to running 3D CFD Simulations. Furthermore, we are worried and unsure whether at the end of this sponsorship agreement we will be able to access our simulations without paying for the professional software. Does anyone have any experience working with Simscale?

Hi there,

After your core hours run out, you will still be able to access your previous simulations.

SimScale is used by many FSAE teams, you can have a look here fir example:

If your team is interested in an academic sponsorship to enhance the performance of your vehicle, no matter if it is in Formula Student or any other competition that we sponsor, make sure to check out the Academic Plan.

Best regards,
Fillia
