Floating point exception strikes again!

Hi,

I ran into this error in two different projects, on two different meshes, changing different parameters; i have no idea how to solve this.

  • In this istance i copied the same settings as the ones for the 491537 mesh, while only reducing the number of layers from 3 to 1.
  • In this istance again the settings are the same as the ones for the 3115729 mesh, but i’ve increased the size of the boundary meshing box and one other refinement box.

Thank you for your support!
Luigi

I had a quick look and I can not give you a quick solution, sorry.

I will try to have a deeper look in the next few days…

Greetings @ada_corte

Floating point exception is not very common in meshing operations. It usually happens when a division by 0 occurs.

So at first I took a look at the meshing log from your problematic meshes:

Taking a look at the layer inflation settings:

Changing it to 1 solves the problem.

That’s brilliant, thank you! I wonder why it hadn’t caused any issues to me previously

I’ll keep testing

Edit: sadly, i already had ER = 1 in my Rear Wing mesh, so i’ll have to find another workaround :frowning:

Edit 2: did some minor changes to distance feature refinements and it worked, god nows :man_shrugging:
