I created a new simulation project called 'Blood flow in a Carotid Artery Bifurcation - Homework':
Webinar Project- Carotid Artery Bifurcation
The project simulates the flow of blood as a non-newtonian fluid through a realistic Carotid Artery Bifurcation. Simulation are performed for 3 cases- of a healthy blood vessel with no calcification or blockage and through an moderately and severely calcified or blocked blood vessel.
The results show the differences in pressure, velocity profile and the outlet flow through the 2 branches.
Flow conditions are based on a paper: STUDY OF BLOOD FLOW IN A BIFURCATION WITH A STENOSIS,
